Indie rockers Lowry are playing a residency at Spike Hill, performing every Thursday in February and March. Also expect friends like The Bloodsugars, Luke Wesley, Porter Block, Casey Shea, No Lindsay, David LK Murphey, Ivan and the Terribles, and many others for shows before and after their own. For veggie lover’s, Bliss Café is an excellent place for tempeh, tofu, and vegetables, with all menu items $10 and under. There’s only one or two bars left on Bedford Ave where you can still get a 32oz beer in a Styrofoam cup for about $5 and Greenpoint Tavern is one of them. This is one of the long standing Williamsburg dive bars still running strong. It’s always fun and the older waitstaff have plenty of sass but will take care of you. While several new coffee shops have popped up in Williamsburg recently, Ella Cafe is not just the best designed, with it’s blond wood interior but the coffee is good and the the organic menu is great.
