From the big screen to the beauty aisle, ballerina-chic is totally in. Of course, not everyone can get numerous acting nods, including an Academy Award nomination, or a super-slender and toned ballerina bod a la Natalie Portman, but you can at least get a gorgeous manicure inspired by “Black Swan” and other cool, modern takes on ballerina culture. While not necessarily affiliated with the film itself, I love how Sephora by OPI’s Urban Ballerina collection boasts that similar bold contrast of classic and pretty with edgy yet wearable… though of course, in a much less crazy way than Portman’s character. The mini set includes Leotard-Optional (a sleek sexy nude), The Way TuTu His Heart (a satiny tutu pink), Who’s Spinning Tonight? (a deep dark purple), and Break a Leg-Warmer (a dark mouse gray). If all 4 shades don’t suit your fancy (though I do think they make quite the quartet, especially for only $18), buy one of the many wearable full-sized shades on their own for $9 a pop!
