Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Anti-Aging Cream

“You get to review THAT?” exclaimed my friend Devin as I pulled the Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Anti-Aging Cream out of the padded envelope. Devin’s normal apathy towards life in general was replaced by nothing short of glee at the sight of this intense moisturizer. While I enjoyed the rehydrating cream, I feel as if I would be doing readers as well as the good folks at Kiehl’s a disservice not to also pass along my friend’s glowing words about this product.

I tried my sample cream for a week, and found it on par with other Kiehl’s products: high quality and nourishing. I applied it nightly and once absorbed, the cream made my skin feel as if the entire day of sun, make-up, and cleanser had been erased. It is advertised as an anti-aging cream, but the description also states it will provide “a dramatic restoration of hydration” and that it does. It has a subtle smell that would appeal to sensitive noses. In short: I like this cream.

Now Devin, he loves this cream too. Devin had recently gone on a mission for moisturizer. He had begun taking Accutane (because, as he said to his doctor, he was in his 30s and tired of dealing with lingering acne problems normally associated with adolescence). While the pill did cut his occasional break outs down to almost zero, it caused his skin to become red, dry, and flakey. Adjectives a gay man who has a shaved head never wants to hear. So, after traveling to a number of skin product booths at various high-end department stores, he found his way to Kiehl’s where he fell in love with the Rosa Arctica. He saw an immediate improvement in his skin after the first application. He purchased what could be described as a tub and has been applying it every night. His skin is now blemish, line, and flake free.
