The Daily Shortlist November 17
Join classic pop UK born/NYC based singer/songwriter Edward Rogers at this record release show for his new album Porcelain. Also performing are a don piper situation and Syd Straw. Helping take new American cuisine to the next level, Cookshop’s chef Marc Meyers offers your palette seasonal and local flavors like Vermont Suckling Pig in porcetta, with polenta, swiss chard, and cider sauce ($28). A great bar in this neighborhood, The Half King provides an excellent selection of beers and one of the better burgers in Chelsea. As addictive as crack but way better tasting, Pinkberry has been taking NYC by storm with their non-fat yogurt and healthy toppings.

Many of NYCs best pay tribute to punk rock icons The Replacements at Mats City: A Tribute Concert to The Replacements. Performers include Ted Leo, Craig Finn (of The Hold Steady), Brian Fallon, Charlie Mars, Danny Sage, Dave Hause, Don DiLego, Jesse Malin, Johnny T., Kevn Kinney, Alejandro Escovedo, Matt Pinfield, Matt Romano, Matthew Ryan, Nicole Atkins, Steve Wynn, Tommy Ramone, Todd Youth, Walter Lure, Willie Nile and more. For dinner, The Stanton Social has earned a reputation for being a beautifully designed restaurant/lounge while serving up some delicious multi-ethnic cuisine. For drinks, a favorite of mine is The Magician, this bar’s chill atmosphere just may be the cure for a well-earned night of rocking. A great way to end the night? Stop by The Pink Pony. This boho café has been serving French food and coffee since the 80s and has a relaxing vibe. It’s as punk as that neighborhood gets nowadays.
