With a four-hour open Absolut bar on a Tuesday night and a performance by The Dolls at Output in Williamsburg, Creative Time’s Fall Ball was a “dance-art marathon” that didn’t disappoint. Bringing out fabulous people from the arts, Absolut girls dressed in Day-Glo 80s-esque workout wear passed out shots all night, and the handsome bartenders didn’t have much time to breathe in-between pouring cocktails designed by The Elm for the fabulous people from the art and fashion world pouring in.

The highlight of the evening was the exciting performance by The Dolls. DJ Mia Moretti worked the tables in a sheer fuchsia dress with a matching head wrap, and Margot’s platinum blonde hair whipped around as she fiercely sawed her electric violin. A string section accompanied the pair to create an intense sound, easily filling the club’s space. Speakers thumped as the crowd on the upper level leaned over the balcony to view the performance, the clothes, the people and all the interactions making up the scene below. After the performance, mimes passed out the colorful, glittery flowers from one of the art installations to lucky guests.

Creative Time is a non-profit arts organization that commissions public art projects with thousands of artists throughout New York City and the world. Fittingly, there were art projects throughout the bi-level club including pieces by Alex Da Corte, Eske Kath, Andrea Mary Marshall and Andre Saraiva and music sponsored by Helmut Lang.
