Not that I don’t enjoy the opportunity to interview new comers on the adult scene-I have had the very best time interviewing actors, directors, cam girls, toy designers, agents etc.-but when I get the chance to speak with a true legend of porn, like the lovely Tori Welles, I more than jump at the chance. Presently, this famous performer/and-even-sometimes-director (she also lists producer and costume/wardrobe credits) hosts a radio show on www.vividradio.com or on the SiriusXM app Channel 791 every Thurs. and Fri. from 6-7pm PT. The vivacious Southern California native is a no nonsense lady, enjoys what she does and is thrilled to be working for Vivid once again, so many years after being a Vivid Girl.
How did you come to be hosting a show for Vivid?
Back in the day, I was a Vivid Girl and it was such a great experience that I stayed in touch with the folks who run Vivid all these years. I always loved being interviewed myself on radio and was thrilled to be invited to have my own show.
Was this one of those opportunities where something was presented to you and you had to brainstorm on how you wanted to present it…or had you always been thinking: ‘Mmm, someday I’d love to be on satellite radio and this is how I’d want my show to be.’
It was really presented to me. I’m considered a porn legend and I’ve always been a good talker. I guess that’s a good combination for adult radio.
What can a listener generally expect from your show? What is the one thing (or maybe a handful of things) you’ll always get to?
They can expect the truth. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t mess around. I’m not going to say I like something when I really don’t. For example, I think anal sex is really a pain in the butt. Others may love it, but that’s not the truth for me.
Conversely, are there any subjects you typically shy away from?
Not really; just listen to my show a bit and you’ll see what I mean. Sure, I had stage fright for the first minute, but I’ve been non-stop ever since.
You have been in adult for a few years now, how have you seen the business change, for better or worse?
I guess the best thing about the evolution of the industry is that performers are more in control of their own destiny. With social media they can manage their images, content and reputation.
Any guests coming to the radio show you can tell us of, planning anything unusual?
Some of the hosts on Vivid Radio have guests, but I have only callers and I guess you could say that I talk dirty to them and we all love it. There is tremendous freedom on adult radio and we take full advantage of it to explore all aspects of the libido with each caller.
