Vivid ValentinesI have no idea where you might go (or whom you might go there with) come next week’s February 14th (the day Hallmark and local flower shops celebrate above all others). But if you are close to or ‘in’ to Manhattan (as I know many shortandsweetnyc-ers are) or riding around LA (as our Los Angeles shortandsweet readers are) then you might want to consider some of these outings and spots to get your heart on, in both or either place.

NYC

The Annual Cupid’s Undie Run.

Beginning at Stage 48, participants (in their undies or getting down to them) meet to begin the 1 -mile run round Pier 84 and then come back for the after party right where they started. This is a good-natured naughty romp to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Tumor Foundation; last year’s race raised over $3.5 million. The event begins at noon on Saturday, Feb 18, 2017 with an awards ceremony for the highest fundraisers (featuring incredible goodie bags) starting at 1pm. The official run is at 2pm, and there’s an after-party (with an open bar) that runs until 4pm. Register here.

L.A. has an undie run as well.

Vivid Cabaret New York Valentine‘s Week celebration. From the 14th to 17th, Vivid Cabaret NYC (@61 W 37th Street) is celebrating Valentine‘s Week, and I received the pic you see here of a couple of the Vivid ladies showing off in some of their Valentine frockery.

Valentine‘s is so much fun,” said Vivid Cabaret NYC girl Bianca when she told me about anticipating next week. “I dress sexy every day. And for Valentine’s Week I’m putting together really hot, tiny little red and pink outfits.”
Vivid Cabaret NYC  is the sister club to the world famous  Rick’s Cabaret NYC, and the new Hoops Cabaret and Sports Bar, both @ West 33rd between Fifth Avenue and Broadway.  If you want to make it the red hottest Valentine you have ever had, hit all 3 clubs next week.
LUST

This carnal Dionysian feast has hungry attendees eating food off nude models, in the midst of Surrealist art installations, with  dungeon areas for a wide variety of interests. Happening at the end of this week actually, this New York staple is not to be missed for those with a need to feast-and-be scene. Info here.

Attendees are provided with everything needed to decorate a beautiful love-inducing, sweet tooth-satisfying cake. Each ticket includes ONE 6″ Round Cake for TWO people to share, snacks & sweets provided, along with a prize for best cake and a raffle. This event lasts approximately 2 hours. Go here to get your frosting on.

St. Valentine’s Day Speakeasy Party & Pie Fight

Why not eat as well as throw? Clicking your mouse here you will find a throw-back celebration to the days of flappers, cheap drinks and…pie fights?! Held at the historic LA River Studios, 2/11 from 9pm to 2am, there will be performances, dancing, D.J.’s and cocktails, with a slapstick pie fight to end the evening. There’s no better way to show someone you love them by throwing some sugar around, right?

Love & Lust Valentine’s Costume Ball

Exploiting the super sexy vibe of the holiday, like Vivid Cabaret NYC above, this is a weekend-long celebration where one gets to dance and play at 4 different parties. Themes include everything from a rave to a harajuku dance party to a kinky costume party. Fetish fashions, costumes, lingerie and revealing clubwear are highly encouraged, no matter what room you find yourself drawn to. Go here to learn more about this celebration held at the Globe Theatre.

This should be enough to get you out and about for the upcoming day of hearts and flowers. Enjoy, eat, drink and throw pies sensibly.
