Chloe and Halle are exceptionally talented young women and sisters  with a very interesting story. After winning a  Radio Disney contest, “Next Big Thing,” they went on to upload their Cover of Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts.” That video went viral and caught the attention of Mega Star and Parkwood Entertainment (Beyonce’s Label).

Their debut EP Uncovered was released in 2013. They went on to join The Formation World Tour and were cast in ABC’s hit show “Grownish.”

Chloe and Halle’s The kids are Alright is definitely a statement and testimony to their maturity. It is a perfect display of coming into one’s own as it relates to being a young woman in today’s society. It also isn’t shy on vocals or clever word play. These woman reflect a new-era sound with traces of nostalgic neo-soul and R&B harmonies and melodies.

You can most surely hear it on “Happy Without Me.”It’s smooth with the sweetest melody, but also the most truthful lyrics. The anomaly and contrast are genius. They have found a great way to incorporate “the culture” without losing their signature sound. That is most evident in title track, “The Kids are Alright.” They openly speak to “old people” and express fully that all who wander aren’t lost. They are the representatives of this generation’s “woke”

My absolute favorite song is “Warrior” which also made it onto the A Wrinkle in Time soundtrack. It’s an enchanting song. It’s fun, its whimsical , and sonically delightful. I adore these ladies. I’m so optimistic for the future of music. “Fake” and “Drop” come across as experimental R&B and stretch my ear and imagination. I enjoy it. It’s almost comparable to figuring out a puzzle. It makes me want to figure out musically how they heard the specific melodies, progressions, and placements. They have found their sound, and if not now, soon, the rest of the world will get it. Their sound is the future. Check it out and expand you ears,
