Unlike regular blush that comes as a single monochromatic shade, this Physicians Formula product offers five coordinating “waves of luminous color†that can be used singly or mixed together to create a custom glow. Furthermore, Shimmer Strips are available in a variety of palates to match all kinds of skin tones.
Application is simple or complicated. The simple version has users use a brush (not included) over a chosen variety of “strips†for a subtle blush. More adventurous users are encouraged to use a slightly dampened sponge to blend for a more dramatic result. To use as a highlighter, the user need only run a brush across the lightest shades to then dust over those parts of the face that the sun naturally hits.
Although the brighter tones in the package may seem intense, the overall result is quite subtle and, depending on the user’s skin and choice-of-palette, also very natural.
