THE SEX FILES: Some Sexually Charged Books Coming Soon

dali-bookAs voracious a reader as I am, I don’t really read all that much erotica (though I make lots of my living writing it). Beyond Fifty Shades Of Grey there are plenty of books being published presently that I feel you might want to grab and give a read.

Here are a few of the latest coming out (or hopefully about to).

Stuart Urban has begun a Kickstarter campaign (see here) to complete his graphic novel Tortured in the Orchard. What makes funding this particular book so important is that Urban was the filmmaker responsible for the infamous Preaching to the Perverted fetish film. PTOP is considered one of the best recent movies truly showing the kink scene (specifically in and around London) and if Urban gets his way, he will produce the cartoon picture book first, then go forth to create a sequel to his film.

Another picture book (photos this time) is to be published at the beginning of December. The sprawling collectible Possibilities: the Photographs of John Willie will feature more than 1,360 pictures from the creator of “Sweet Gwendoline” who made quite the mark with his photos published in “Bizarre” magazine from 1948-to 1959. The book, showing many never before seen pics, will be published from legendary New York publisher Bélier Press.

Lastly, our old friends at Taschen are at it again. While certainly not an erotic tome in the truest sense of the definition, still I’d like to draw you attention to a feast for the eyes coming in October.

Salvador Dalí’s cookbook Les diners de Gala will be reprinted by Taschen. Food and surrealism meet here in 136 recipes spread over 12 chapters, specially illustrated by the infamous artist. As relevant now as it was in 1973 when first published, this is a cookbook not for the faint of heart, done in the Dali way, with as much attention to recipes as how the food looks when it is done.

Make what you will above the above, search out your own naughty words in eBook or print form, grab a bawdy comic or two or search online for what’s coming out in literature. We all know that what fires our imagination is what’s the sexist stuff of all.
