The 75-minute Off-Broadway production of Josephine is a one-woman act impeccably played by Harris as international superstar Josephine Baker who, after leaving the racial oppression of the United States, rose to fame for her risqué dance numbers in Paris in the 1920s.
Through a number of sexy and playful cabaret routines and gorgeously performed songs, Harris takes the audience on a journey of Baker’s life, covering the long list of incredible roles she’s held including being a spy for the French Resistance, a major motion picture star, an adoptive mother of 12, and a Civil Rights Activist.
Harris’ passion for the role combined with an amazing story and a spectacular flurry of feathers, furs and fruit create a magical experience and a timeless message.
