The Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon really knows no limits. The story, which was inspired by the Twilight series (and I guess you can say dominant and submissive foreplay and then some) has been widely received for quite some time now. And I guess with good reason, as it’s not your ordinary love story. You have to give credit rightfully so to its author, E. L. James. So it was only a matter of time before the phenomenon became a movie.

Now, in my most humble and honest opinion, I am not much of a fan of the film version of this tale. Maybe it’s because I only had Charlie Hunnam on the brain set as the sexy Christian Grey. Maybe it’s because this story was better off left in all of our minds instead of being interpreted onto the silver screen. Whatever the case may be, I guarantee you this – if you loved the movie or hated it, you WILL absolutely love the soundtrack.

You can’t go wrong with the list of artists who contributed some truly great songs to this soundtrack. The one and only queen, Annie Lennox, opens the album with “I Put a Spell On You,” a perfect beginning. This is followed by Laura Welsh with “Undiscovered.” Then there’s of course the breakout hit “Love Me Like You Do,” by Ellie Goulding. You’re also treated to two songs from Beyonce. The first song is “Haunted,” and then there’s one of my personal favorite songs from the Queen B, a new rendition of “Crazy In Love,” which is so sultry, I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. There are treats that I really never expected. One of them came from AWOLNATION and their cover of one of my ALL TIME favorite songs, the Boss, Bruce Springsteen’s, “I’m on Fire.” As the major Springsteen fan that I am, it is NOT easy to impress me with a cover of any of his songs, but this cover was truly well done.

Trust me when I tell you, you will absolutely love this soundtrack. Even if you didn’t feel that the movie interpreted the tale of Christian an Ana to your liking, I am certain that you will love this soundtrack. I know that I did.
