McGettigan’s NYC: An Extravagant Pub Experience
ThereââŹâ˘s a new Irish pub in town, but itââŹâ˘s probably not like any youââŹâ˘ve been to before. McGettiganââŹâ˘s on West 36th doesnââŹâ˘t have any gold, Celtic lettering over the door, instead thereââŹâ˘s a neon-lit sign with a glowing three-leaf clover. Dubbed ââŹĹThe Modern Irish Experience,ââŹÂ the bar is the first stateside member in a chain including other locations in Dubai, Singapore, and, of course, Dublin. Inside McGettiganââŹâ˘s NYC, guests will find a flashy space made up of two floors lit with color-changing LED lights. It looks more like a club than an Irish bar, but there is Guinness on draft, and fish and chips on the menu.
If the grand opening on June 4 was any indication of McGettiganââŹâ˘s NYCââŹâ˘s continued atmosphere, it should be a fun place to hang. They had a good-looking, Irish rock band, The Coronas, play for the event, and the place was packed with guests enjoying the smooth-soundingĂ music, mingling, and having an all-around good time. (This could, of course, be due in part to the free-flowing, free alcohol at the opening.)
McGettiganââŹâ˘s NYC is located at 70 West 36th Street and is open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The barĂ will be hosting a quiz night every Tuesday and having live entertainment on a regular basis.
