Hot Times In Las Vegas: AVN, Adult Film Festival Las Vegas and Sin In The City

It’s that time of year in Las Vegas. From January 24th-27th, down at the Hard Rock Casino, talent, manufacturers, website owners and paparazzi will be on hand for the mad scramble that is the yearly AVN event. Exposition networking during the day and parties at night, this is the premier annual adult business hang.

The AVN Novelty Expo, touted as the “the industry’s premier B2B event,” brings “together the latest & greatest items from a wide range of cutting edge companies. Toys, lingerie, lotions & potions, supplements, gifts, games, sex furniture, cosmetics, condoms, aphrodisiacs, accessories, and so much more will be on display – many that you will not find anywhere else.” This happens daily during the long weekend, then it is parties and on Saturday night, the infamous AVN Awards Show.

I also have it on good authority that there are other adult events one should partake in during this end of January, early February in Sin City, but more on these in a bit.

The Novelty Expo will feature 250 Innovative Brands, 30 Workshops & Seminars and 20 Networking Events. Beyond perusing the latest dildo or maybe scoring an autograph with one of many adult stars walking the floor, there will be talks over copyrights in the adult space, how cam performers can better their income and how toy makers can better sell their products. The general view (at least as we see it shown across Spike TV) is that the real action at AVN happens after dark, and at the raucous awards show, which takes place on the 27th. But all that one can learn during the day should not be missed. Lots of deals are made on that main exposition floor as well as business relationships solidified and established.

Private suite nighttime happenings with enticing names like, “The Saints and Sinners Party,” and “The Lair Fetish Party” are open for those lucky enough to score invites.

As mentioned, Saturday, the 27th , is when the most-photographed action begins. The press room is open at 11am, the actual AVN Awards start at 9pm, and the official After Party, which us mere mortals can only dream about, happens at 11.

Some of the nominees this year in the Best Actress category: Asa Akira, Jessica Drake, Jill Kassidy, Ella Nova and Katie Morgan, compete with a litany of other ladies. Titles like Bounce, Hollywood Hills Hijinx, and Lubed 2 (there were so many unanswered questions left over from Lubed 1) are up for Best Anthology Movie. and some of the Best Directors being considered this year include Jay Allan, Will Ryder and of course Brad Armstrong.

There is certainly lots going on here, right?

But as I mentioned, there is lots happening for adults about adults in Las Vegas right around the same time as AVN.

Occurring concurrently with AVN, The Erotic Heritage Museum is hosting their Adult Film Festival Las Vegas  January 26th through 28th, 2018. The EHM is a sex museum space filled with exhibits and artifacts unlike any you have ever seen. Attendees to the Film Festival get access to the museum as well, and of course access to all the AFFLA has to offer. Launched in 2015 by founder and creative director ex-adult star Deajha Milan, the event here at the EHM will feature a wide variety of films, seminars and even a workshop on the art of Tantric sex for couples as well as Marcus London presenting his “Master Seminar on Squirting,” class.

Stay another week in the land of the never-ringing-slot-and-midnight-breast-implant and you can avail yourself of the Sin in The City convention. Held the very next weekend, Feb 2-4th, at the Alexis Park All Suite Resort (not a stone’s throw from the Hard Rock) “Sin” is “three jam-packed days with more than 70 educational workshops, social parties, play parties, speakers, entertainment and the International Person of Leather Contest!”

Just so you know, the AFFLV and AVN are not connected and are not working together. And Sin In The City is not connected to AVN (or AFFLV or for that matter) as well.

I can personally vouch for both The Adult Film Festival Las Vegas as well as Sin In The City. The EHM throws an amazing party and the museum is a must see, and I was actually involved in the first AFFLV. This year I will be teaching classes at Sin with my buddy, smut writer extraordinaire M. Christian (he is one of the judges for the International Person of Leather Contest!)

So there is lots going on in the upcoming weeks in Las Vegas, well more than even there usually is for any of us who enjoy a little spice in our life. If you make it to Sin, please find me and say hi.
