Bonnie Tyler, the husky-voiced singer, known for “It’s A Heart Ache,” and the world-wide smash “A Total Eclipse Of The Heart,” has released her 17th studio album, Between The Earth And The Stars. Joined on these songs by a whole bunch of collaborators and enlisting the talents of the producer of her first two albums, here we get a pretty solid presentation of fourteen tracks of just about where B.T. is in 2019.

Canadian ‘modern pop artist,’ David Browning’s Now You, See Me is a wonderful lush release of modern romance, played, produced, sung and written impeccably. You need to ‘see’ this CD.

“Love Can Take Is There (2019 Nash Overstreet Remix),” and the softer (and last) song “Love Can Take Us There (Acoustic Version)” are two drastically different versions of Steele’s obvious big single. I like Steele’s big clear range on both, with the acoustic take mining a slight country vibe from what Overstreet manages on guitar.

Singer/songwriter stuff can get really boring for me. Yes, we all have something to say, but sometimes the execution of such introspection leaves me wanting; how many times have I merely said: “alright already, can you just rock me a little?” Mark Peters and The Dark Band delivers good solid tunes, by an obvious good songwriter, leaving the listener to want to hear more.

Elise reveals lots of range, color and smarts and with a whole bunch of great players helping, Damon Mitchell is spot on with this EP.

Van Morrison surely is one of our more modern pop prophets, and this album makes clear that we should all certainly listen to him speak.
