American Amnesia was born two years ago at Oliver Wolcott High School in Torrington, Connecticut, the result of the meeting and jamming of singer/songwriter/guitarist Patrick Nemaizer and drummer/vocalist Sam Cesnak. Gus Pac is thrown into the fray here playing bass and what you get on Yet Here We Are are well crafted pro-punk, heavy metal, rock tunes, that at times as much hit all of those genres as they fly off on their own, come to mix of those styles…and more.

“Roll Down Your Window Slowly,” begins Maxwell James’ wonderful, self-titled EP. It’s got a Scotty Murray, electric lap steel slide, James’ sexy voice and a snappin’ funk beat you can’t get away from. From the get go we realize we are going to be taken on a rich ride of ‘alternative,’ (whatever the hell that actually means!) rock, blues, and folk, all put together expertly across these five.

Mixing leftfield, hip hop, rock, into a heady mix, Rebel ACA (singing, playing some keys and manning the occasional beat) with French Monkey Wrench (sometimes singing, playing keys, guitar, bass and beats) present 13 quite melodic rap tunes with a goodly layering of instruments here.

Bassist Josh Stillman sneaks his talent into what multi-instrumentalist/producer Jesse Jensen manages and vocalist Tom Vickers sings/talks over. Adding live drummer Brian Korpalski, into the mix Jane in Space are poised to bring all these new scary sounds of Gorerunner to the masses. Certainly this music is of a certain sound, stuff one either likes or dimisses (or just dances to) but Jane in Space does this well and this is a tight little EP.

The ten tunes here are, informed by lots of acoustic modalities, Epp’s strong expressive voice and and those great musicains-Jon Radford, Micah Hulscher, ‘Champagne’ James Robertson, Joel Couture and The O’Pears-mark this 1oth album release of Epp’s perfectly. The man is on a few subjects in his lyric, touches round a variety of styles, but still keeps a singular solid ‘voice,’ of what he is delivering here.

The Elements Tour Box 2018 includes 31 tracks, 17 of them never before released on CD, plus a booklet with notes by co-compiler Sid Smith, memorabilia photographs, info about the band’s 2018 tour, and new photos of the current eight-piece King Crimson band.

As their bio states, Nocturnal Blonde was “originally created as a project to bring about awareness, in story form, to mental clarity and substance abuse.” And the 5 tunes here on their Smart Heart EP certainly reveal a certain approach to looking at the world with a minimalist tag and a refectful lyric.

“Kashmir,” ends. It really is what this kind of a thing obvious has to build to and it is damn good. Drummer Keith Howard and violinist Randi Fishenfeld jam out in a cool ending section, just them. Scott Board again hits all those killer high notes around the bloody good mess and In the Light of Led Zeppelin is out, over and done, making you want more.
