Opening with the swirling electric guitar picking and certainly scary “Inequality,” it is the following tune, the almost Monkey’s-like guitar jangle verses of “Deranged,” that hooked me more. It’s evident from the outset here we are in capable hands; Beecroft is a good songwriter, the tunes are tight little gems and he even works his growly vocal well. And he does know how to create a singable chorus despite often heavy lyrics.
