Kansas’s lead vocalist/ keyboardist/one of its main songwriters, Steve Walsh, retired from the classic prog American band a few years ago and even while in it the past few years avoided making any new music. But here, on Black Butterfly, Mr. Walsh has unleashed a dozen tunes, most co-written with Tommy Denader, who provides all the guitar and co-produces.
