The Daily Shortlist Jan. 14
The Mars Volta’s soon-to-be-released new album, The Bedlam in Goliath, is being hailed by critics as their best yet, and truth be told, they never put on a bad show, so I think you know what to do tonight. Known as the place to go for brunch, for dinner, Eatery is nothing to mess with. Serving up comfort food with Asian flare, a dish like Wok-Flashed Tequila Shrimp (with poblano-corn flautas, sweet potato mash and cilantro sour cream $19.95), is nothing to be overlooked. For drinks, check out Zanzibar, where you can score exotic mixed drinks that are seasonal at this casual lounge. If you want to waste some time, stop in at Colony Music, where they not only sell albums but every kind of sheet music you can imagine, along with memorabilia, and autographed photos from has-been celebrities.
