Blending the vibes of dancehall and UK-garage music, hip hop producer and rapper Jammer (born Jahmek Power) brings urban British sounds to the U.S. with Jahmanji.

Signed to garage-label Big Dada (an off-shoot of electro-fave Ninja Tune), Jammer showcases his electro-grimy roots on several tracks such as “Bad Mind People,” which features vocals by Lickle J and rhymes by hip hop duo Newham Generals. But even with production by popular DJ-producer Toddla T, at times Jahmanji can be a bit difficult to follow because of the East London lingo, British accent and Caribbean tone, other than that, Jammer’s rhymes are still essentially tales of urban life on the streets. Other standout tracks: “Get It In,” “Party Animal,” “Better Than,” and Back To The 90’s” respectively. Having dropped a batch of mixtapes over the years and worked with the likes of fellow emcee Dizzee Rascal and production duo Basement Jaxx, Jahmanji is the emcee’s first full-length.
