If you’re Jewish and like to rock, check out Golem’s CD release party featuring the Sway Machinery off JDub, a not-for-profit record label and event production company for innovative Jewish music, community, and cross-cultural dialogue. Having brought you acts such as Balkan Beat Box and Matisyahu, you know they have an eye for talent. The Sway Machinery opening the night, are a band with too much energy for most rooms to handle. The Music Hall of Williamsburg might just have its roof blown off by the end of the night with Jeremiah Lockwood of Balkan Beat Box, Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Stuart Bogie and Jordan McLean of Antibalas and Colin Stetson of Arcade Fire all converging on one stage. If you’re in the zone for Mexican, Bonita is a great place. Serving the standard fare, try the mouth-watering chicken burrito and Mexican corn on the cob, wrapped in cheese with a hint of spice for that extra kick. If you’re looking to dance afterwards, Savalas has both great DJs and drink specials on top of delivering on the fun factor. Fabiane’s is a great little cafe in the heart of Williamsburg that’s great for not too late night people watching. Try one of their fantastic desserts or sip coffee and stare at the passing hipsters.
