Purple Lab’s ‘Huge Lips Skinny Hips’ Lip Gloss

After spending a day with Purple Lab founder Karen Robinovitz, I had to concede that she had indeed, managed to introduce a truly innovative product into the over-saturated lip-gloss category- in Manhattan!

In the case of Purple Lab’s ‘Huge Lips Skinny Hips’ lip-gloss, all it took was a delicious new attribute and a great story to differentiate Robinovitz’s six great shades that provide a plumped pucker and are infused with Hoodia to curb food cravings.

Indeed, during our daylong adventure exploring the inspirations for each delicious tube, I was hard-pressed to claim that I was hungry. It could have, however, been all the fun we were having: Pole dancing, shoving our dainty feet into six-inch heels at Christian Louboutin and capping off the evening with thigh-high removal lessons a la burlesque beauty Veronica Varlow.

You may be thinking: Does this lady know how to sell a product or what? I also arched my naturally skeptical brow until we heard the stories behind what seemed like an extremely well-planned PR stunt.

Robinovitz attaches a modern-day tale of feminism to each flavor including the confidence and strength derived from releasing your sensuality through dance, touch, undress, indulgence and generally rewarding yourself for being a woman. It’s this attribute, although intangible, that makes this gloss truly wearable.

Huge Lips Skinny Hips offers six shades: No Panty Lines(clear), Red Sole, Lychee Martini(peach), Worship Kate(mauve), Love Your Thighs(pink) and Poledancer Kitty(nude). Available on the beauty scene this April at $20 a mood.
