You ever get that craving for waffles for dinner and think- naw, that’s crazy. You can’t eat waffles for dinner. I mean, you’re a grown up and you can do what you darn well please, but wouldn’t a salad be so much more sensible?
Reasoning be damned, I had the best Pan-Roasted Chicken & Waffle ($14) last night and a slammin’ pile of bacon to boot, all thanks to freshly opened and highly touted Permanent Brunch.
I really can’t say enough about the unique, gourmet takes on brunch classics like the afore mentioned Chicken & Waffle, which is a perfectly cooked, succulent half of a hen with red wine mushrooms and a savory- not sweet- wedge of waffle to soak up the juice.
If that doesn’t sound like sex in your mouth, take it from me, it is- And you can have it for brunch, lunch or dinner.
To top it all off, PB’s menu sports a delicious list of Artisanal Bacon ($3)- the highlight of which is the Hungarian Smoked Kolozsvari from Illinois. But to each his own and you should certainly taste them all to see which is yours.
From a fun and funky staff to creatively designed drinks to the perfectly poached egg- Permanent Brunch makes it easy to skip sensibility and the Sunday morning wait.
Chicken and Waffle runs $14, as do the majority of their decadent entrees. Have the bartender whip you up a drink called the G-Spot and tell Khia I said ‘Hey!â€
