Following 2007’s release of the LP Grand Animals, Brooklyn rockers Robbers on High Street have returned with a taste of new material with their single “Electric Eye.” Acoustic guitar and gentle keyboards mix together with singer Ben Trokan’s soothing voice for the perfect sunny summer single. The lyrics’ warning about being watching constantly blend with the retro sound to sound reminiscent of The Eagles. B-side “Face in the Fog” takes the funk a step further with more horns and upbeat synth. If both of these songs are a sign of what’s to come with Robbers on High Street’s next album, then fans new and old should prepare themselves for tunes perfect for dancing or singing along with the windows down in the car.

About Casey Hicks

Casey Hicks toils her daylight hours away in an office high above Manhattan in order to afford nights of passionately scribbling. The first song she remembers ever hearing is "Lola" by the Kinks. She thinks this explains a lot.
