THE SEX FILES: The New Year, A Reflection
From suburban dungeons to conventions I trekked for you. Commenting on the Pope and who is gay or not, I gave you the facts and the skinny. I showed you where to find a party or parade, not only updated you to the latest in the porn HIV scare but gave you facts from people in the business. I reported on stories about teen pregnancies and sex addictions, put myself through the arduous ordeal of reviewing high-end sex toys for you and sat down to talk turkey-and everything else-with some beautiful adult actresses…all for you. How about those books from Taschen? Or the tapes from Vivid, Wicked and Digital Playground…I suffered through, read and watched, made my notes…then read and watched again just to be sure my research was perfect.
All for you!
You think it’s been easy?!
Well, it’s been a blast!
I cannot thank you enough for seeing me through my first year…well almost a year, I began this column in Feb of 2010 but now that we are at the New Year I figured a little wrap up and thank you was in order. Your continued support of shortandsweetnyc.com is what makes the site happen and I am humbled by your continued readership as much as I am to the powers-that-be-here at the website for taking the chance on me to write a weekly column about sex.
I hoped you have enjoyed the ride.
What it comes down to is, as adults we all pretty much have a healthy interest in sex. I don’t think it is something to be exploited but I certainly don’t think it’s something to be ashamed of. Working in the adult industry as I do I have come to learn it is like any other business, hit by these hard economic times, trying to right itself through the ever-changing technological storm and attempting to weather criticism leveled at it from church groups, social gatherings and political pundits from both sides of the isle. I like to think I do my little bit to keep reporting about interesting sexual stories or provide forums for the shakers and makers in the adult industry to have their say.
But really, I simply hope I have entertained you. I know how tough the world is out there, I know what a bustling mass of people, steam, lights and wind NYC can be. If I have even offered a scintilla of a respite, provided a chuckle, or given you the smallest start of a tickle you-know-where, then I have done what I set out to do with THE SEX FILES.
The future?
I’ll be traveling for a few weeks here and there so I hope to bring you stories from far and wide as I dig ever deeper into this thing called sex, but with my eye always firmly looking eastward to us at home. As always I welcome your comments. It’s only because of the readers that we do what we do here at shortandsweetnyc.com
So here’s to you all for healthy, happy and prosperous…and sexy…2011.
