For the launch of their New York City outpost, Stark Waxing Studio of L.A. launched a new candle, Palm Frond ($24), to celebrate. Stark Waxing is the much talked about salon of L.A. wax-pert Paz Stark. The hand-poured candle comes in a cylinder votive with signature notes of green, honeydew, cilantro, basil, lemongrass, and lime. The Palm Frond is the cleanest burning candle I have owned due to its soy base. Soy candles burn more slowly and produce considerably less smoke than a traditional wax candle. The scent is strong, but not consuming. A little more than what I’d like to spend on a candle, but suitable for a housewarming gift.
