Yes, we do really have it all happening here, don’t let anybody tell you different. There’s no way something as hot as Cinekink, happening right here in Manhattan, is going to go by without my mentioning of it. The annual long weekend (so long it began Tuesday night) features naughty movies-both documentaries and fiction-and discussions and parties. The movies, shorts and full features, screen at Anthology Films Archives (32 2^nd Ave at 2nd Street). The great thing about this festival is that you get to see a ton of films for not a ton of money, as each day features anywhere between 5 and 9 films!

The Kick-off Gala was held at Taj. Kinksters were on hand amongst the drinks and revelry, as one would expect, plus stalwart films on the scene like Shake It, My Erotic Video Art-erotic indeed! and The Lady is Dead.

Thursday, March 3 @ 7 pm CRAVE

This is an assortment of 8 films “looking longingly” at a wide range of desires. Among them, the world premier of the 13 minute Passion, Fruit by Tingerine Liu. Ms, Thing by Canadian Karen X. Tulchinsky and Piss directed by Vincent Peone. Also tonight at 9pm they are screening the film An Open Invitation: A Real Swingers Party In San Francisco, a 70 min romp that climaxes with 15 adult film actors and 127 swingers.

Friday, March 4 @ 6:45 pm / ADVENTURES IN THE SKIN TRADE

This is an assortment of shorts about sex and money and performance. They include the 13 minute Sex Workers: Your Voice Counts, about San Francisco sex workers, Hooka Face and the Virgin Boy, directed by Robert Putka, a nine minute ‘humorous/horrific look’ of what you get when you put a 18 year old virgin and a comely hooker together. 9:00 pm / here is the LUST, LOVE, LIFE portion of the evening with Choices, Wiggle Room and from Spain, Life, Love, Lust to name but three of the six. Then at 10:40 pm CAGED, the longer full feature of a woman who explores her life as a “unicorn” (you have to see the film to understand what the term means).

Saturday, March 5 is the last real day for the films. Starting at 1:00 pm, it’s the RUN, RUN, IT’S HIM section with Porno Person and When Harry Met Chesty (gotta love that title), a PORN AGAIN panel discussion on “ethical” porn-making, with Tristan Taormino, Jiz Lee, Jincey Lumpkin, Esq. 5:30 pm is the annual adult cinema showcase, BRING IT, with six films, at 8:00 pm. 7 more under the PRIDE & PREDILECTIONS section, with films dealing with sexual orientation and identity and one’s place in the world. Black Rise Tange and Skin’s First Suspension films ending the INDIETRO section of the night. Sunday ends it all with an Awards Ceremony then at 9, Afterglow, the super-sexy wrap party. When this stuff comes down in NYC we got to take advantage.
