Chelsea’s La Venue, formerly known as The Tunnel, was overflowing with down home country flavor Saturday for the annual Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival.  In addition to the 60 beers and 40 bourbons that were available, a host of food options were also included in the admission price including  spot roasted pig pulled right from the hog, beef short rib biscuits, smoked sausages and spicy BBQ chicken as well as plenty of potatoes, slaw, collard greens, and beans.

The sold old crowd had a chance to enjoy some terrific local beers from brewers such as The Bronx Brewery, Greenport Harbor, Blue Point, and Ommegang as well as plenty of international beers like Blue Moon, Negra Modelo, and Staropramen in addition to some fine bourbons such as Maker’s Mark, Cabin Fever, and High West. Along with the beer, bourbon and BBQ, the festival also had a live bluegrass band playing all night long and booths for country style T-shirts, homemade pickles, a heated cigar tent, and the daisy dukes and boots girls interspersed throughout the eclectic crowd.  The event was a perfect way to warm up on a cold Saturday night and the unlimited beer and bourbon made the ticket price seem like a no-brainer.
