(False Idol)
Adrian Thaws, better known as Tricky, has just released his tenth studio album, False Idols. This British DJ/producer has composed a dark and mellow album filled with deep bass and downtempo beats.
Thaws has definitely not forgotten about his 90’s roots with sticking to his sweet trip-hop sound, which can be seen in his earlier work.
False Idols dives into tough topics such as love and social issues, which anyone can relate to. Tricky’s low and soothing voice goes well with artist Francesca Belmonte. Vocal appearances also feature Nneka, Peter Silberman (of The Antlers) and Fifi Rong.
Mr. Thaws is very proud of his new album, in a press release he stated, “I don’t care whether people like it. I’m doing what I want to do, which is what I did with my first record. That’s what made me who I was in the beginning. If people don’t like it, it don’t matter to me because I’m back where I was.”
Tricky’s new tunes flow just right with no sudden turns or surprises around each corner. This soulful and experimental album will be sure to keep you wanting more from this influential artist.
