The Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque @ Gramercy Theater, 10/31/14

Needles suicide girls 1The Suicide Girls brought their famed Blackheart burlesque show to New York City on Halloween for a full house of costumed fans at Gramercy Theater. The two and a half hour show consisted of a fun and sexy array of geek culture allusions such as an Avengers and Star Wars stormtrooper striptease as well as some classic Fossesque cabaret choreography. While the artistry and dance appealed to some it was clear that the majority of fans were there for one thing: boobies, which were ever-present in pasties, feeding the frenzy of the crowd.

The six featured dancers: Liryc Suicide, Peneloppe, Bricksie Suicide, Papermashe, Sunnie Suicide, & Mahneeguh showed off some outstanding moves, curves, and stamina throughout the night. There was also a good deal of audience participation such as local Suicide Girls and hopefuls like Palette Suicide, Treble, and Bittersweet Suicide as well as audience members getting a chance to dance onstage (and getting danced on) for prizes. After the show the girls met fans, posed for photos, and signed books in the lounge bar downstairs and the Halloween party continued late into the night. The ladies will be back in Brooklyn at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Thursday November 6 before continuing on to the rest of the country and Europe.
