THE SEX FILES: The Parent Company of RICK’S CABARET NEW YORK Celebrates Their 20TH Anniversary on NASDAQ
Celebrating a milestone not many companies reach, let alone something a strip club would ever dream of achieving, The Parent company of RICK’S CABARET NEW YORK celebrated their 20TH ANNIVERSARY on the NASDAQ this past Wednesday.
Yes, one usually thinks of something ‘rising’ other than stocks when it comes to gorgeous scantily clad women twirling around stripper poles. But RCI Hospitality, the parent company of Rick’s Cabaret New York, has sat securely on the NASDAQ for 2 decades. Eric Langan-the Chairman, President & CEO of RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc.-rang the Nasdaq Stock Market Closing Bell, accompanied by members of the company’s Executive Team and Board of Directors, and Regional Managers last week, then hosted a big party down at Rick’s Cabaret New York (located at 50 West 33rd Street-between 5th and 6th Aves) celebrating the milestone.
With 45 units, RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc., through its subsidiaries, is the country’s leading company in adult gentlemen clubs and sports bars/restaurants. They have adult clubs located in New York City, Miami, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, and Indianapolis, while other cities operate under brand names, such as “Rick’s Cabaret,†“XTC,†“Club Onyx,†“Vivid Cabaret,†“Jaguars†and “Tootsie’s Cabaret.†Sports bars/restaurants operate under the brand name “Bombshells.†And with Playboy calling Rick’s NYC’s location: “the #1 strip club in New York City†and boasting a Zagat-rated steakhouse, VIP lounge and three floors of non-stop entertainment, Rick’s Cabaret New York is the ‘in’ spot for those who enjoy top notch entertainment….and it truly was this night.
Though the drinks flowed, as did the curvy bodies, what struck me most (and I expected the girls and place to be beautiful), beyond the welcoming atmosphere of the well-dressed doorman and managers shaking your hand with “Hello, nice to see you, sir.” “Here, let me take you upstairs to the event,” the luscious surroundings (and not just the ladies), the overall super classy vibe of what is truly the modern-day example of the very best in gentlemen cabaret entertainment…was the freaking food! Certainly this night we weren’t as much sitting down for a meal as enjoying hors d’oeuvrs, these were top notch eats; I had heard that Rick’s New York boasted some very fine fare, but all I sampled (and I sampled as much as I could from their very wide variety of food this night) was top notch. And the cake rocked as well!
I know next to nothing about what it takes to get on the NASDAQ, let alone how one maintains a place there for two decades. Or how the parent company in this ‘particular’ kind of business keeps doing what they do, as well as they do it, as far reaching as they do it, but one thing is for sure, the company’s President/CEO Eric Langan, who I met, shook hands with and was completely taken by with his big smile, his open manner and his assurance that he would be available to me, one of just many press people he met that night, in any way I wished (how nice is that, when they guy doesn’t know me from Adam?) knows what he is doing.
A big thank you to all those wonderful people at Rick’s Cabaret New York for letting shortandsweetnyc be part of their celebration.
