From the opening chapter “Journey Beyond The Stars” we as much learn about director Stanley Kubrick’s early professional life working for “Look” magazine and into this first few films…as we do in later chapters get into the full story of “2001,” a film that took three years to complete. We meet author of the story Arthur C. Clarke of course, get some insight into the back and forth he and Kubrick got into and meet all the relevant characters, some interviewed specifically for this book, some 40 odd plus years after they worked on this movie.
