Sculpted by Robert S. Davidson and considered among other things, a ‘fresh-faced,’ even ‘sexier’ version than the lady standing sentinel in New York’s harbor, the U.S. Postal service used this version on their “Statue of Liberty Forever” stamp. The only thing is…the USPS grabbed the image of Davidson’s statue from a Getty Image and did not obtain copyright permission.
