Captain Morgan and Fader Magazine threw a party promoting Captain Morgan’s new Black Spiced Rum in Brooklyn at Converse Rubber Tracks. It was a night of firsts for me—first time trying Captain Morgan Black, first time at Converse Rubber Tracks, first time hearing Ryan Leslie (rapper-producer and everything in-between), and maybe more importantly, first time having an event arrange a car to pick me up. (As my date put it, “So VIP!”) The drinks were free, the space was dope and the look-at-me crowd was really into the whole scene, including Mr. high-energy Leslie. There were even free tacos from Endless Summer Tacos food truck during the show. Some people just know how to throw a party.
